There have been instances of student being told that this year university will not run the B.Ed. course. Already, with the introduction of new NCTE norms and B.Ed. becoming a 2 year course, lot of queries are there in the minds of aspiring candidates. Getting unauthentic and incomplete information makes the student more vulnerable and confused.
As every year this year also, MDU will conduct B.Ed. course in its colleges. Very soon, MDU Rohtak will announce the notification for B.ed admission. The admission process for B.Ed. is common for all the universities of Haryana. As the new norms have come into force, some changes are bound to happen in the course program. The fee structure will also be increased. Now that B.Ed. has become a 2 year course, new subjects will be added and the duration of teaching practice is increased. All this information will be given in the admission brochure of B.Ed. for session 2016. As every year it will be online counseling for B.ed. admission in MDU.
If you want to pursue B.Ed. from MDU, then wait for the admission process to begin. Many students take the help of admission consultants for the same. If you go through facilitators, take care that you do not fall prey in the hands of touts. Although, there are institutes which guides the students, and get the admission done through proper channel. One should be careful enough to find out the credentials of the institute before joining. This way you do not have to look for information here and there. Chances are hire that you will miss on something important. It is better to take the help of experienced people to avoid hassle at later stage.
In the last few years the teaching profession has seen lot of changes. The changes have been in positive direction. Salary structures have increased considerably. In past, any graduate would become teacher. But now, schools hire only qualified teachers. Non B.Ed. employees are not engaged anymore. Even if some school may take a non qualified teacher, the salary offered will be low.
With background of all these things lot of females take admission in B.Ed. every year. In Haryana alone, B.Ed. colleges have more than 40,000 seats. As it is with law now B.Ed. is also integrated with graduation. Now you can do B.Ed. after XII class. It is a four year course leading to B.A. Ed. Or B.Sc.Ed. the seats for four year B.Ed. are very less in number. In Haryana we have only 100 seats. And, all over India we have only six colleges which offer four year B.Ed. There is no age limit for integrated B.Ed. but one must have completed class XII after 2013. There is an entrance test. This admission test is common for all the (six) colleges of India. At present there is no private college having 4 year B.Ed. All these colleges are government run. For four year B.Ed. admission 2015 in MDU the forms are already out. The forms will be available till 10th of May. Then there will be an entrance test.
Eligibility for four years B.Ed. leading to B.A. ED. Or B.Sc.Ed.
Commerce students are not eligible to join the four years B.Ed. this course is framed only for arts and science background students. The candidate should have scored minimum 60 percent marks in class XII in order to sit for the entrance. Vocational course students are also not eligible to do four year B.Ed.
B.Ed. admission for two year course.
The traditional B.Ed. which was a one year course has been stopped by NCTE. From the session 2015-16 onwards, B.Ed. is a 2 year course. Most of the universities have started formulating there course structures as per the 2 year system. Some people have put up court case against some of the new norms presented by NCTE. It is likely that these issues will be resolved soon and the clean picture will be out soon.
The official notification of admission in B.Ed. 2015 for universities like MDU and KUK is not yet announced. But as per the previous years the admission will be not through any entrance exam. The total score of academic qualification of the candidate will be used. On the basis of this score a merit list will be formed and finally through the counseling process, candidates will be offered their choice of college.
Pre registration is must for participating in the process of counseling. the formal announcement for the same is expected in the month of May.
It is advisable to a candidate that she may join B.Ed. in regular mode from MDU. As there are lot of B.Ed. colleges in Delhi NCR region in gurgaon or other cities like Faridabad, jujjhar, mahindergarh etc. Many B.Ed. Colleges have their own means of transport. Student from Delhi prefer to join B.Ed. regular from MDU as, its affiliated B.Ed. Colleges are easily approachable. Regular B.Ed. admission in MDU is easy in comparison tor B.Ed. from Delhi University or getting admission in B.Ed. regular in IP University. In both these Universities (DU and IP) the number of seats are very less, say few thousands. Secondly, there is entrance exam for admission to B.Ed. The forms for IP university are already over.
As engineering and other professional courses, B.Ed can be done in regular mode only. Although, IGNOU University does have a B.Ed. program, which runs in distance mode. But that is a four semester course which is available for only in service teachers. The eligibility criteria are different from B.Ed. admission in MDU and other Universities offering B.Ed. in Delhi. In IGNOU there is an entrance exam for B.Ed. admission. This B.Ed. entrance exam is conducted at national level. No of seats are very less and are distributed district wise. B.ed. course is run through the school where the candidate is already teaching. Secondly the student should have minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an affiliated school in secondary classes. Student, who has teaching experience in junior classes i.e. from nursery till 5th, is not eligible for B.Ed. admission in IGNOU. Such students should try for B.Ed. admission in MDU or other universities of Haryana. For the session 2014- 2015 B.Ed. was a one year course. NCTE has come up with new norms for 2015. As per the new norms of NCTE, a regular B.Ed. from any UGC approved university will be a 2 year course. Some bodies have put up a case in the high court against these norms. Now the decision is pending. As of now, there is no notification regarding this, from the universities. If these norms come into force then B.Ed. 2 year course will be implemented. Otherwise, the formal system of 1 year B.Ed. admission will take place.
MDU and KUK also run distance course in B.Ed. The norms and eligibility are same as that of IGNOU. The only difference is that for B.Ed. admission in MDU or KUK distance mode the student should be teaching in any school of Haryana. Secondly, MDU does not open the admission for B.Ed. 2 year course in distance mode every year. Also, in the new norms there is no intimation from NCTE in regard to B.Ed. in distance mode.
