Impact of Recent Technological Advances in Education and change in teacher training courses leading to B.Ed.

Teacher trainingThere is always a false fear in the minds of people that computers can take up the jobs of people and render them unemployed. History will provide you with the evidence that reality is contrary to this. Technology and computers have proven to help people with their jobs, increase their efficiency but rarely replaced their jobs. It is the same logic that applies to computers and technology in education. A teacher has great responsibility to undertake and a very difficult task to perform and there is no possibility in the near future for a computer to be able to carry out tasks like inspiring a child to learn.

Uses of Information Technology (IT) in Education

Getting Feedback: Tests and examinations are an integral part of education. The purpose of the test is not only to evaluate the performance of a student. Tests also evaluate the performance of a teacher. Test scores will pick out the students that the teacher needs to give extra attention and investigate the reason for the under performance. Computers can make this easy.

Delivering Multimedia Content: Books seem to be the only source of knowledge to the school student. With the arrival of computers students can bid farewell to books as a tablet with internet connection can provide a student not only with text and graphical information, it can also provide video and audio information. This makes way for a rich and stimulating content instead of boring books.

The World at Your Finger Tips: With the internet available on mobile devices the information about the whole world is literally on our finger tips. Now you can browse and search the web with your finger tips on mobility devices. This technology has made life really easy. We still aren’t sure of how many different and interesting uses that can be found out using the mobility device and the internet.

In teacher education program, most of the universities have included ICT as a subject. Although there are no teaching courses online, but lot of material is available on the net.

Teachers need to gear up to handle this technology too. That is the reason why “Computers in Education” is a subject that is covered in B.Ed degree courses. If you are interested in getting a B.Ed from MDU fill in the B.Ed online form as soon as you can.

Role of NCTE in regulating B.Ed. and Education in India

Education has been on the top of the minds of the Indian Government like all governments. The National Council of admission in b.edTeachers Education was created in 1973 in response to a recommendation made by the Education Commission which was formed in 1964.

Although education was a state subject the central government seemed it fit to create a national guideline for setting a benchmark for the competency level of teachers in the states. In the year 1978 NCTE developed a “National Framework for Teacher Education Curriculum”. NCTE was not a statutory body so it could not enforce its regulations on the various courses conducted in the country starting from Kindergarten teachers to High School Teachers.

The National Policy on Education (NPE) set up in 1986 recommended the Programme of Action (POA) in 1992 to upgrade the National Council for Teacher Education, as an autonomous statutory body. This gave it powers to regulate institutions of teacher education and to provide guidance to them in the matter of curricula and methods. The, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Act was passed in the year 1993 and NCTE came into existence with effect from August 17, 1995. The NCTE has played a big role in implementing the targets and key policies of the Human Resources Ministry. Today as we see a paradigm shift in the way education is delivered using internet and tablet PCs it will be the sole responsibility of NCTE to make the necessary changes to prepare the future teachers to be armed to deal with the new methods and technologies of teaching.

The degree course leading to Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) also falls under the purview of NCTE. B.Ed duration is 2 years. If a school appoints teachers without a B. Ed degree the teacher can take a year off and complete the requirement of a B.Ed Degree and continue teaching. There are courses designed where in the teacher can continue a part time classroom course along with his / her job. The duration of such a course would be two years. If you are interested in taking advantage of the B. Ed course B.Ed admission 2015 is on and it would be the right time to join B.Ed in MDU. Admission in B.Ed. is not tough.

India’s Program to Uplift the Level of Education Needs Teachers with B.Ed.

India falls short in the field of education from the standards for a very long time. It is unbelievable that the standards haven’t been restored after so many years of independence. We are not top ranking nations when it comes to education or innovation in education. The British did set up a few Universities in India before quitting but the number of facilities served only the elite. A much larger infrastructure was needed in India to cover every one. B.Ed. for teachers

Over the period of 30 years since independence there has been a huge change in the number of educational institutions that have come up to provide one of the basic necessities for humans after food, water and shelter. If we are short of the target it is not because of a lack of finance or infrastructure. It is mainly because of the shortage of trained teachers. Getting human resources as trained teachers is difficult and going to get even more difficult as the supply never seems to meet the demand.

People who do not opt for professional courses generally end up with a graduate degree in arts or sciences. These degrees intrinsically do not prepare them for a vocation. Since these persons have spent years digging deep into the subject of their choice they do qualify to teach students at a lower level than themselves, say in schools. Assuming that we give these persons a job to teach children, the main problem that comes in front of every one concerned is that these may know their subject very well, they may no be in a position or capability to impart knowledge to someone like school students. That is why the bodies who oversee the business of education in India have come up with a two year course in Education leading to a B.Ed Degree. One can go for doing a B.Ed. course in delhi. India will need millions of teachers trained in imparting education. In case you are an aspiring teacher you can get your B.Ed from MDU Rohtak. MDU B.Ed’s have a long way to go.

Psycho Pedagogy

Teaching is a noble profession. Education in ancient Indian times was carried out in Gurukuls. The word Gurukul means the Guru or Teacher’s family. Students would go and live with the Guru and imbibed his knowledge. The delivery oimagesf knowledge too was not empirical. However since the relationship between the teacher and student was very different, teachers could pay individual attention to their students and change their delivery based on the ability of students. Modern education system has many techniques and aids to force a student to think analytically and come to a conclusion. The techniques expect that the students have equal knowledge, intellect and tendency to learn. However this may not be the norm in all classes. There may be students who are slower than other to grasp new ideas. How will the teacher deal with a class with students of mixed abilities? There can be other factors too like cultural factors that may impact the ability to learn, especially languages. To deal with these issues it is necessary for the teacher to understand the process of learning and the psychology of the children going through the process. The stream of science dealing with this aspect of learning and psychology is called Psychopedagogy.

Psychopedagogy is a combination of the science of Pedagogy or teaching and Psychology. This stream of science tries to analyze the process of learning using both the disciplines of teaching and psychology to find a conducive method that helps learning. This is all the more relevant when the person under study has behavioral disorders or is subject to cultural influences. Psychopedagogy is used to identify the development disorders due to psychological reasons and has devised methods to overcome the shortcomings of such children. If you are a teacher and you find that you aren’t able to deliver education because of the different learning capacities of your students or you have students with learning disorders you will feel the need to study this subject. This is one of the subjects covered in Bachelor of Education courses. If you want go through a B.Ed course in Delhi you can check out for a  B.Ed from MDU.

The term Psychoanalysis as used for the first time by Sigmund Freud to refers to the method he used to dig deep into the underlying causes of behavior and personality. He studied medicine in Vienna, Austria and began his career as a surgeon. After taking a course in psychiatry, freud shifted his interest to the treatment of patients suffering from Hyshria – a nervous disorder of memory- lapse with fainting spells and suspension of normal activity. He came to know that hysteria was a psychical disorder which required psychological treatment. He collaborated with Bruer and used Hypnosis to dig out the deep rooted arises.  B.ED Admission 2015

Freud found hypnosis ineffective and hence abandoned it in favour of encouraging his patients to speak freely and report whatever thoughts they had in their thinking. Freud termed this Free Association. The patient was asked to relax on a couch in a room free from distraction and urged to speak out all thoughts without inhibition on modification

This underground journey was pretty exciting as it unearthed a lot of hitherto forbidden thoughts. Some of the events and episodes even quiet embarrassing to face since these was loaded with a good deal of anxiety. By establishing Rapport a cordial relationship with the patient based on trust and confidence, Freud was able to excavate a lot of hostile feeling and emotions. This CATHARSIS the outpouring of pent-up feeling brought relief from hystera. Thus the credit of brining the Unconscious to the Conscious goes squarely to Freud. On the credit of his clinical analysis Freud formulated a theory of personality using a number of HYPOTHETICAL CONSTRUCTS. We may not be able to find objective proof for the existence of a number of constructs used by Freud. But Freud’s theories are immensely useful in the treatment of conflicts and neurotic disorders.

ID , Ego And Superego

According to Freud, personality is made up of thee dynamic forces, namely the ID, the EGO and the Superego. They interact closely with one another and determine the personality of the individual.

ID: The basic building blocks with which every individual is endowed at birth, according to Freud comprise the untamed, uncivilized, blind, instinctual impulses always seeking immediate of gratification of need, regardless of social approval or disapproval Thus ID is – primitive, selfish and destructive. It lends itself for expansion like “I Demand “ ”I Desire” the first two letters of the world “ I DIQT” as well.

Logical laws of thought do not apply to the ID contrary impulses exit site by site, without canceling each other out. The ID in the reservoir of energy , which frued called LIBIDO for the whole personality.

Freud likened the ID to a ‘salting cauldron’ which contained ever bubbling primitive urges and desires. He believed that these urges indiscriminately sought expression in external reality. The ID even thus conceived of as “amoral” since it is even unconcerned with the niceties and ‘convention of society. During early infancy parents are usually permissive and tolerant, Hence ID enjoys unbridled expression the baby especially the first one to parents, can demand anything and get it. ID operates according to the first one to the ‘pleasure principal, “the aim of these impulses are always immediate, and complete satisfaction, the pleasure principal appeared to be an outgrowth of the concept of philosophical HEDONISM , a doctrine which states that people always strive to maximize pleasure and minimize pain.
