B.Ed admission, eligibility criteria in M D University

First of all I would like to thank all those people who have appreciated the content of our articles. We are receiving lot of mails for the same. There had been many queries about the B.Ed admission eligibility criteria. Though simply speaking the answer to the same can be given in one line ie 50 percent marks in graduation or post graduation. The eligibility criteria for B.Ed admission varies from university to university. In some universities only a candidate who is a graduate in arts or science is eligible that means B.Com. Graduates are not eligible for admission in B.Ed. even those with professional degrees like B.Tech or Law  are not eligible.

In MD university rohtak , Kurukshetra university and CDLU ie Ch. Devi Lal university, the eligibility criteria remains the same. Any person who has a graduation degree in any stream is eligible for doing B.Ed. That means even if a candidate has done B.Tech or BPT (physiotherapist), he/she is eligible for doing B.Ed from Md university, rohtak or any of the universities from Haryana. The only condition is for taking admission in B.Ed. is 50 percent marks in the same.

Now, if a student does not have 50 percent marks in his bachelors and still one wants to pursue B.Ed from M D university. The second option available is that a candidate should have more than 50 percent in Post graduation. Again for doing B.Ed it is not necessary that the PG should be in any of the traditional stream.

Simply put even if you are an MBA from a valid university and you meet the percentage requirement you are eligible to pursue B.Ed from M D University.

So, if one wants to take admission in B.Ed. in M D university then the only requirement is more than 50 percent marks in either graduation or post graduation in any stream.

There is yet another criteria available, but only for reserved category students. If a candidate belongs to reserved category then the minimum percentage criteria is reduced to 45 percent marks.

This criteria is applicable to candidates whose reservation certificates are from Haryana. They should be a permanent resident of Haryana state. Any candidate of reserved category who seeks admission in B.Ed. in M D University, but does not belong to Haryana has to do it under general category. They cannot claim the benefits provided to reserved category students.

Another Important thing regarding eligibility criteria for B.Ed. admission is that in these universities there is no rounding off of the percentage. Even if a candidate is having 49.99 percentage score she is ineligible for taking admission in B.Ed. in CDLU or M D university.
